On 26th of August 2007 the KALA cricket match was played at the Bishop Strotford College Cricket grounds. This year it was a double celebration. The Dr.Gopi Memorial Cricket match coincided with "ONAM". More than 60 members and friends took part in the event. Two thrilling and exciting matches were played. In the first match, the junior men's team set a target of 145 runs for the senior members. The senior team won by 8 wickets in their allotted overs. The man of the match was adjudged to be Dr.Manoj Ramachandran. The women's match that followed was also thrilling. The team led by Mrs.Thankam Ramachandran beat Mrs.Indira Jagan's team, and Dr.Shyamala was declared the woman of the match. The lunch was a sumptuous, traditional "Ona Sadya", prepared by KALA's lady members. After the match everyone was invited to Dr.Sashi Gopinath's house for yet another 'sadya'. The whole event was organised by Sashi and family with help from Mr. Shankar and Lakshmi Shankar.
