On 12th May KALA’s literary evening was held at Heatherside Community Centre in Frimley, Surrey. This event was organised by Mr.K.Natarajan.This year it was very pleasing to see a lot of new faces. There were two sessions – English and Malayalam. The Topics discussed in both languages were varied in genre and rich in content. The English session covered Shakespeare’s tragedies, fantasy, fiction, thriller and poems. Whereas Malayalam session consisted of poetry recital, own composition, talk on short stories, humour etc., The young stars of KALA spoke with great enthusiasm about their chosen book and its author. The tiny tots of KALA added a new dimension to the evening by reciting poems of Roald Dahl, Spike Milligan, Rudyard Kipling and narrating the story of Mahabharata etc. As a whole it was a great success! Mr. Natarajan and KALA can be proud of this years’ literary evening event which was very informative and enjoyable for all the members and guests, who were present. KALA’s president Mrs. Geetha Menon thanked the gathered strong audience. After the meeting KALA ladies served a scrumptious dinner. Once again they proved that they can cater for any occasion and any number of people! It was yet another unique and successful cultural event for KALA. Written by Mrs. Santa Krishnamurthy
